ABSTRACT
Beethoven lived in a changing society: Europe in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century where both the arts and the industry were revolutionized. This literature review aims to describe diseases that accompanied the musician, explaining behaviors and treatments to which he was subjected and stating the cause of death. 15 bibliographies were reviewed. It was concluded that: Beethoven underwent numerous treatments and doctors. He was a man who lived with his time; he suffered a number of diseases, but the deafness was the one that affected him the most.
