ABSTRACT

An updated bibliographic review of 25 articles were made with the purpose of describe the uterine myoma, considering risk factors, types of myoma, clinical features, essential aspects for diagnosis and treatment rates on current trends. Articles, texts, websites: updated documents were reviewed. Predisposing factors reflected in the literature such as age, nulliparity, obesity, overweight, genetic predisposition, and others were described. The most common are the intramural myoma. The most common manifestations are bleeding, pain, tumor and compression. Treatment is pharmacological, surgical and / or natural and traditional medicine.
