ABSTRACT
The cardiovascular diseases in people with diabetes mellitus have an earlier occurrence,
and they usually emerge with atypical symptoms and signs. Equally, it has been
demonstrated that hyperglucemia is an important risk factor for the microangiopathic and
macroangiopathic complications in diabetes mellitus, and the posprandial hyperglucemia,
with glucemia in normal fasting, is a frequent clinical condition and an independent
cardiovascular risk factor. Thus, in the present work some considerations related to the
control of dyslipidemias, hypertension and the platelets antiaggregation are exposed in
the patient with diabetes mellitus.
