ABSTRACT
The Pancoast tumor is a rare
presentation of lung cancer.
The most frequent cause of
lung cancer is non-small cell,
mainly squamous carcinoma,
followed by adenocarcinoma
and large cell carcinoma.
Their particular location
delays diagnosis and resection
difficult. Symptoms depend
on the structures affected
by compression or invasion.
The diagnosis is clinical and
radiological, through proper
history, examination and
radiological interpretation. The
study must be completed with
thoracic computed tomography
and / or magnetic resonance imaging. The most common
therapy is the tri-modal therapy
improving survival.
