ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 90 year-old white male patient with a squamous cell carcinoma on the right
post-auricular sulcus, which had recurred three times after surgical excision, radiotherapy and
Mohs micrographic surgery. Treatment consisted of Mohs surgery to achieve tumor-free margins followed
by excision of an additional layer for examination on paraffin permanent sections. We discuss the multiple
therapeutic options for treatment of auricular squamous cell carcinomas and the recurrence rates for
each technique based on review of pertinent literature.
