ABSTRACT
The incidence of tracheobronchial lesions is 1-2% of reported lesions in high-energy accidents. The majority of them
are men under 40 years, with a male-to-female ration of 3:1, the right side is the most affected. This lesion has a very
high mortality rate. Diagnosis of tracheal injury in polytraumatized patient leads to early treatment and better
prognosis. Here we present a case of a young man with tracheal trauma after a car accident and a review of the
published literature.
