Trauma en adultos mayores en el Hospital

ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the characteristics of the elderly trauma in the Hospital "Miguel Enríquez" between 2011 and 2013.
Method: Study observational, descriptive, longitudinal, of the type of "series of cases" of prospective character, between 2011 and 2013, all were included those patients traumatized with 60 years or more that were entered of urgency in observations, it salts
or therapy for the service of general surgery.
Results: Inside the total of those injured (116).
Prevail the masculine sex with 63% on the feminine sex with 37%. The cardiovascular and breathing illnesses represented 32% and 24% respectively. The falls of their feet were the most frequent with 49 patients. The thorax with 58 patients and abdomen with 21 patients was the
affected regions. Of the patient’s deceased, 6 of 9, they presented serious lesions with danger for the life (punctuation of Injury Severity Score among 25 to 40 points).
Conclusions: The characteristics found in this study went similar to those carried out by other authors; the main one differs he found the affected anatomical region.
