ABSTRACT
A total of 19 cases of humeral non-union, were treated in a period of five years. A retrospective study was done to determine the type of the humeral non-union, as well as their treatment and outcome. We observed a frequency of 4.5%, in relation to all cases of pseudoarthrosis, seven patients were former treated at another hospital and 12 at our hospital. All pseudoarthrosis were treated by a centromedullary interlocked nail at both ends, reduction of the pseudoarthrosis and autologous bone graft; 18 patients obtained consolidation of the site of pseudoarthrosis. Function was good in 17 patients (89.1%), one patient persisted with pseudoarthrosis and pain, however had acceptable function. One patient who presented good function died from other causes.
