ABSTRACT
Amelanotic malignant melanoma represents 1.8% to 8.1% of all such tumors, due to the lack of pigment, those tumors are often difficult to diagnose and therefore they have a significantly worse prognosis than the pigmented variety. We report 2 cases with amelanotic melanoma.
Case 1: 51 years-old otherwise healthy man with a congenital nevomelanocytic nevus on the back.
On physical examination he had an erythematous tumor.
Case 2: 19-years-old white healthy woman, presented an asintomatic erythematous plaque on her left leg.
