ABSTRACT
Warthin tumor (papillary cystadenoma lymphomatosum) reported by Warthin since 1929, is rare and benign salivary gland tumor that occurs almost exclusively in the parotid gland. It represents 7% of all salivary gland tumors, and it is the second most common benign parotid neoplasm. Men are affected more often than women (relation 5:1), usually in the fifth to seventh decades of life, etiology is unknown, but it has a strong association with smoking. The most common clinical manifestation is a painless, slowly growing mass in the inferior pole of the superficial lobe of the parotid gland. We report the first case of a typical case of Warthin’s tumor in male patient of 52 years old from Ángeles León hospital.
