ABSTRACT
Objectives: Presentation of a clinical case of stromal tumor in the jejunum,
description of its radiological characteristics, and bibliographic
review of the topic.
Material and methods: We present the case of a patient admitted to the
emergency ward with symptoms of lower digestive tract bleeding who
was subsequently diagnosed, during surgery, with a mesenteric tumor
with invasion of the jejunum. Finally, pathological anatomy identified
it as a gastrointestinal stromal tumor in the jejunum.
Results: High grade gastrointestinal stromal tumor in the jejunum.
Conclusion: The presentation of this case is intended to discuss a type
of tumor uncommon among neoplasms which may affect the jejunum;
although it does not have a unique, pathognomonic presentation by
imaging, it is important to take into consideration an another option
among the variety of tumors which affect the small intestine.
