ABSTRACT
First described in 1880 but studied until 1888 by Moebius, Moebius syndrome is a congenital anomaly characterized by the lack of facial expression and lateral eye movement; its etiology is attributed to a lack of blood supply during the period of organogenesis which may be multifactorial in origin and has recently increased due to the use of abortifacent drugs such as misoprostol. Medical and dental care of patients with this disease should be aimed at improving their quality of life. We present the case of a patient with a diagnosis of Moebius syndrome who underwent oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia.
