ABSTRACT
We present the case of a preschool patient, victim of neglect, with symptoms suggestive of tetanus, of the metropolitan area of Nuevo León. This disease continues to appear sporadically despite the widespread vaccination campaigns. The diagnosis was established with serum levels of tetanospasmin, and the case was handled in the area of pediatric intensive care, with good results. She was subsequently discharged under the care of the DIF.
