ABSTRACT
Cryptococcosis is an opportunistic infection caused by
Cryptococcus neoformans and usually starts in the lung parenchyma us pneumonia. In immunodepressed patients the infection can spread hematogenously to other organs, mainly the central nervous system and skin. Secondary skin lesions occur in 10-20% of cases, usually have a clinical appearance similar to
molluscum contagiosum and are known as secondary cutaneous cryptococcosis.
