ABSTRACT
Rheumatoid nodules are the hallmark cutaneous feature in rheumatoid arthritis. Nodule size is variable;
they can involute or even increase in quantity or size when treated with methotrexate. Some can develop
complications and can be aesthetically bothersome. Cryosurgery was used with excellent results in
rheumatoid nodules in both elbows in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Cryosurgery may be useful as an
alternative treatment in selected cases.
