ABSTRACT
Introduction: In spite of the achieved advances in the medical sciences, the surgery
and the intensive cares, the secondary peritonitis continue being a great problem of
health and of elevating indexes of mortality.
Objective: Establishing the behavior of
presage indicators of the secondary peritonitis related with the mortality.
Method:
Descriptive, transverse study of presage factors of death in the secondary peritonitis in
the intensive care unit of the General University Hospital Vladimir I. Lenin from 2007 to
2012.
Results: When the value of the Apache II was superior to 20 points, the sick persons presented 9.98 times more risk of dying. The half value of lactato above 6.5
mmol/ l was of wrong presage for the patients (p= 0,0000). The Índex of Peritonitis of
Mannheim greater than 30 was statístically significant in the mortality with p= 0.0000,
having these patients 2.68 times more risk of dying.
Conclusions: The presage
indicators together with the clinical valuation are of great utility in order to determine the
risk of dying of a sick person with secondary peritonitis and to value its criteria of
admission in units of attention to the serious.
