Morbimortality in intensive municipal areas. Historical series, 2004-2011

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The intensive municipal areas have the equipments and the professionals with the required quality in order to offer initial critic cares to the emergencies.
Objective: Describing the levels of activity for pathologies, as well as the main results of work, expressing the mortality in the tracer pathologies.
Method: It was carried out a longitudinal and descriptive study, for officials of the Department of Urgencies, Emergencies and Transplant and of the Department of Hospitals starting from the model
241-PR-13-01 of monthly periodicity, from the year 2004 to the year 2011 and of quarterly periodicity starting from the 2012 of the National Direction of Statistical of the Ministry of Public Health.
Results: They were assisted 248242 patients' total, of which, they received direct discharge the 47.8% and they were remitted the 29,6%. The first cause of admission was the hypertensive urgency and emergency with 28974 cases. The average of mortality by acute heart attack is of 8.7% and for cerebrovascular illness
5,3% they were assisted during the studied period, 12040 patients with IMA, of them 5367 received thrombolysis (44,5%).
Conclusions: The Intensive Municipal Areas has
gone gradually elevating their levels of activity and quality, evidenced by the number each time greater of seen cases, that in any form evidences the trust that they offer to patients and families, as well as the mortality that stays stable in some pathologies and
in others with a tendency to diminish.
