Morbimortality of the Intensive Municipal Area of Güira de Melena. Eight years of work

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The intensive municipal areas were created ends of the year 2003, beginning to work at the beginning of the 2004. In the general regulation of policlinic the fundamental missions of this area are enunciated constituting the units of greatest resolving power for the emergent situations, leading units of the urgency and the emergency in each municipality, destined for the initial attention of all critical patients. Objective: Knowing the behavior of the morbimortality in eight years of work in the intensive municipal area of Güira de Melena. Method: Retrospective, longitudinal and descriptive study in a period of eight years in the Intensive Municipal Area of Güira de Melena. The universe and the sample of study were constituted by 4303 patients. Results: The greatest percent of admitted patients were discharged alive to home. The disorders of the rhythm constituted the main illnes and in the 89.44% there was total solution. The illnesses that most contributed to dead patients in the period of study corresponded to the acute heart attack and the heart stop with 12.2% and 64%, respectively. Conclusions: The main illnesses that demanded attention in the IMA were the heart and breathing illnesses. The Bronchial Asthma had the greatest resolving power with 74.9% of total solution. A significant relationship was evidenced between the no application of the thrombolic treatment and the dead patients with heart attack or for heart stop.REFERENCES
