Behavior of the indicators of operation of the intensive municipal areas. Guantanamo province. Year 2011

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The setting in operation of the Intensive Municipal Areas comes to complete a system of attention to the critical patient whose improvement favors the achievement of an important reduction in the mortality of those patients. Their location in the primary level of attention permits the control of the factor time and the correct handling of those patients. Objective: Evaluating the services of medical urgencies in the intensive municipal areas of the primary attention of health of the Province of Guantanamo. Method: descriptive and retrospective study with an universe conformed by the 1180 patients that were admitted in the wards of intensive municipal therapy during this period. The analyzed variables included the main causes of admission, of remissions, the index of thrombolysis; the state to the discharge, total of admission, remitted, the discharges and the dead patients identifying the causes of death. Results: the hypertensive urgency and emergency constituted the main cause of admission with the 12.0% being the acute heart attack the main cause of remission (78,3%), they were thrombosed the 5,4%, this pathology together with the heart inadequacy were the first causes of death with the 12,5%, they were remitted the 51.4% of the patients to the secondary level. Conclusions: Most of the admitted patients were remitted to the hospital, being the Intensive Municipal Areas of Imías and San Antonio those of worst results in this indicator. The acute heart attack and the cerebrovascular illness were the first causes of remissions. A low index of thrombolysis existed.REFERENCES
