ABSTRACT

Three cases of atrial septal defect type ostium secundum are presented who were sent to the cardiology consultation of San José de las Lajas municipality in an interval of three months where presumptive clinical diagnosis was made by auscultation and confirmed by echocardiogram, all patients were between the 5th and 6th decade of life, and despite having gone through various health services throughout their life, it was never detected murmur or cardiovascular disorder to infer diagnosis questioning the quality of auscultation and cardiovascular physical examination in our environment.
