Malaria. A current problema

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the malaria is a parasitic disease transmitted by mosquitoes, and it has affected the human being for years. In spite of the advances in knowledge, this illness continues causing outstanding morbidity and mortality around the world.
Objective: to perform a review of the recent literature on the epidemiology, diagnostic and treatment of malaria.
Method: the research was made in the Medline databases and there were checked the articles published since 2009 to the 2014.
Conclusions: This article made an emphasis in the importance of having a high suspicion degree of malaria, making a fast diagnostic and giving a proper antimalarial treatment with the purpose to optimize the prognosis of the patient infected.
