ABSTRACT
Pressure alopecia is an uncommon complication of long surgeries. It is due to the hypoxia on tissues caused
by continuous pressure. It is usually transient and affects mainly the occipital area in adults. We report
a 12 year-old male with an occipital pressure alopecia due to the contact with a cephalic latex ring used
in an otolaryngology sugery. The histopathology showed catagen follicules and trichomalasia. Six months latter
a complete regrowth of hair was observed.
