ABSTRACT
Liposuction is the surgical procedure most commonly performed today all around the world. It is imperative
to have a deep knowledge of the surgical technique and to do it with appropriate safety measures to
get an optimal result. Selection of the patient must be strict as well as the estimation of the volumes of
the anesthesia. The classic standards, common to any surgical procedure, must be closely respected, particularly
those in connection with asepsis and monitorization. A careful sedation administered by an anesthesiologist
gives much more safety and comfort for the patient.
The authors describe the experience accumulated in a cosmetic surgery center and give their own recommendations.
