ABSTRACT
When doing cryosurgery with a closed probe, we often face the problem of spraying liquid nitrogen all over from the exhaust tubing that is required for the returning gas. This tube, once the unit’s trigger is fired, may be floating around, spraying liquid nitrogen right and left. We present a very simple device that can be attached to the cryosurgical unit, which will avoid the spraying of liquid nitrogen all over. This device consists of a velcro fastener and a short piece of a plastic straw. The straw is secured to one side of the liquid nitrogen bottle by means of the velcro fastener. The exhaust tube is then introduced into the straw thus avoiding its moving around with no control.
