ABSTRACT
We report a 7 month-old female with a hemangioma on the left axilla and arm, since 15 days of age, with
progressive and rapid growth. She present also two large painful ulcers and limitation of shoulder’s
movement. Due to poor compliance and low response to prednisone, treatment with propanolol was
given and the hemangioma improved dramatically. Although only few cases have been reported in the literature,
and the mechanisms of action of propanolol in hemangiomas is still not well known, we consider this drug
as a good alternative for hemangiomas of high risk.
