ABSTRACT
Pityriasis alba (PA) is a common condition in childhood. It is the
third cause of our pediatric consultation at the Hospital General
de México, and the fourth most common cause of external
consultation at the National Institute of Pediatrics. Its etiology
is unknown, and it has no effective treatment. It is among the
minor criteria to diagnosis atopic dermatitis (AD). Therefore,
many authors treat it as such, but always with a poor response
to the multiple regimens, including emollients, sunscreens, topical
steroids, and calcineurin inhibitors.
