ABSTRACT
A clear and conscious social compromise is acquired when you have the privilege to become a doctor. We will take a deep look inside Gustavo Baz Prada MD, one of the greatest doctors, Mexico has had, where his outstanding personality, came from a very low socio-economical background.He was able to visualize the need of a social service in medicine, to offer a contribution to the health system for the poorest and less privileged communities in our country. The generation 1931-1936, from the National School of Medicine, a group of graduated doctors who were the first ones involved in this project, few resources, visiting faraway communities, with almost no communications, usually isolated communities were the ones favor with this wonderful project. Now days, 75 years later, we remember and praise this wonderful legacy from Gustavo Baz, and try to report the amazing accomplishment and some wise anecdotes taken from his students.
