ABSTRACT
It was performed a bibliographic search of the relevant published articles about the clinical and psychosocial factors of the traumatic medullar lesion, without language restriction, during the period January- December 2013, with the objective to identify the clinical and psychosocial factors of the traumatic medullar lesion. The relations found within the socio demographic, clinical and contextual factors with the disability situation of persons with medullar lesion, indicated the need to implement interventions in public health directed to diminish its incidence, preventing the associated complications and favoring the integral processes of rehabilitation that would bring about the social inclusion. The clinical exploration will also help to differentiate the syndromes, in which the medulla has been injured in the totality of the transversal section, other syndromes in which it has been partially injured and some ascendants and descendant ways that remained respected. The medullar traumatic injure was repeated in young male patients with low cultural level, the car accidents were the main cause, the thoracic and incomplete injures prevailed, with severe disability sequels, psychological and economic alterations. The conditions are not still created for the existence of a favorable social environment in the rehabilitation process and social integration of the medullar injured patient.REFERENCES
