ABSTRACT
Salivary gland tumors are rore, representing betwen 2 to
6,5% of all neoplasms of the head and neck. Tumor series
with a significan! number of patients hove been published in
recent years. Although there is a general agreement regarding
the orderof frequencyand general choracteristics ofthe
most importan! tumors, there is discrepancy in the percentages
presentad by the different outhors in mojar ond minar
solivory glonds.
Objetive.The objective is the retrospectiva
study of benign tumors of salivary glands.
Methods. In this
study they were retrospectively analyzed 372 benign tumors
of solivary glonds. These tumours were diognosed in the
Pathology Service of "Reino Safio Universitory Hospital" of
Córdoba (Spain), between 2000 ond 201 O. ltwas collected
information concerning the size, onatomical location, age
and gender.
Results. The diagnosis distribution was: 233
pleomorphic adenomas (62.6%), 85 Warthin's tumors
(22.8%), 24 myoepitheliomas (6.5%), 12 cystadenomas
(3.2%), 7 canalicular adenomas (1.9%), 4 basal cell
adenomas (1, 1 %), 3 sebaceous lymphadenomas (0.8%), 2
oncocytomos (0.5%) ond intraductol 2 popillomos (0.5%).
Conclusions. There is no global gender differences in our
series. The parotid gland is the moin location. lt is confirmad

other tumors. Worthin's tumor has confirmad its historicol
mole predominance.
