ABSTRACT
Globally it is reported that patients receiving smoking cessation treatments, leaving SHGs during the first year. Studies in the CENSAM with the previous program, a high percentage of relapse was detected. For this reason the present investigation was to describe the results of a new program implemented in 2010 to 2012, with the completion of an epidemiological, descriptive and direct study through the analysis of information from a statistical record compiled by author and History Clinic, which took into account all patients, for a total of 45 treaties, which completed the first year of voluntary abstinence. The objectives allowed to determine the sociodemographic characteristics and prior consumption; evolution during detoxification detoxification and smoking cessation, changes in lifestyle, learned behaviors, motivations that allowed them to remain in voluntary abstinence and that led them to slip and/or relapse. The most relevant results were shown through graphs or tables and the main conclusions were: group studied predominantly male, college grade level for both sexes, the color of white skin, married marital status, source rural society, predominantly in women, subordinates and a predominance of smoking spouse (33.3%), a positive trend was found during the three stages of treatment for both sexes, low use of new coping tools learned during abstinence and the factors that positively influenced predominantly voluntary abstinence were concerns about his health and family.REFERENCES
