Evaluation of quality of the nursing care in oncology patients treated with chemotherapy

ABSTRACT
A descriptive and cross sectional study was carried out in the Department of
ambulatory Chemotherapy of "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General
Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, from July to September, 2013, in order to evaluate the
quality of the nursing care, as well as the level of satisfaction from those who received
it. The sample was constituted by 300 oncology patients treated with antineoplastic
drugs and 3 nursing professionals who worked in the mentioned department. It was
verified that the quality of care of these professionals in its dimension, human
treatment and level of care was good, as well as the satisfaction level of those who
received it was favorable.
