ABSTRACT
Introduction: Cerebral palsy is a new name for a disorder that has affected
children for millennia. It is now defined as a permanent but not unchanging
disorder of posture and movement resulting from a non-progressive
encephalopathy in an immature brain, the cause may be of pre, peri, or postnatal
with a prevalence of one to two per thousand live births according to global
statistics.
Objective: To determine the efficacy of the rehabilitation program of the walk
applied.
Method: We performed a prospective epidemiological research, observational and
longitudinal cutting. The sample consisted of 30 children who we apply the
rehabilitation program, cutting evaluation is performed at 15 and 21 months.
Results: risk factors were present in a large number of patient antenatal being the
highest incidence in the case of the predominant tone alterations hypertonia with
different topography and in clinical diagnosis diparesias topographic end. Children
with cerebral palsy who managed the march began rehabilitation before 3-4
months.
Conclusions: a high proportion of children achieved independent walking between
15 and 21 months. Motor compensation was achieved in 4 patients and improved
the aesthetic pattern of the march, the remaining patients.
