Analysis of the personality of the patient with facial deformity

ABSTRACT
The facial deformity presents as asymmetry, hypoplasia, excessive
growth, facial clefts, among others, as well as syndromes of the head
and neck where alterations of the facial structures that can occur with
clefts of the face.
Material and methods: Analysis of personality was conducted in a
sample of patients with facial deformities of maxillofacial surgery service
at CMN “20 de Noviembre”, studying patients in protocol of orthognathic
surgery using the Inventory Multiphasic Personality Minnesota 2
(MMPI2), no significant deviation was found in the results of analyzes,
such as undiscovered psychopathology.
Results: Presenting a correlation in the difficulty of adaptation of patients
to a change in the way they perceive their self-image.
