ABSTRACT
Staphylococcus aureus is one of the leading causes of bacterial infections on the hospital and community, where is responsible for a wide spectrum of diseases, ranging from minor skin infections to fatal necrotizing pneumonia. Since the introduction of penicillin into medical treatment, the resistance for β-lactams has started to develop. It was a result to the adquisition of a movil element denominated chromosome cassette staphylocci mec (SCCmec). However, late to 90’s the first community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) methicillin-resistant was identified characterized by the presence of the toxin Panton-Valentine Leucocydin (PVL). For this reason is necessary to do distinction between CA-MRSA and HA-MRSA, across different methods for an appropriate therapy and avoid the dissemination of this bacterium.
