ABSTRACT
The family offers the human being that is born, the appropriate environment for its growth and development. The family unit and stability loses temper when one has the presence of disability that the PCI causes in one of the children. The purpose of the present study was determining the functionality of these families, using the “Scale of family evaluation of the Dra. Espejel”. The results suggest that the presence of a son with PCI doesn’t imply directly that there is dysfunction in the family structure, since there were even functional families in all the studied areas. To know which have been the areas significantly with dysfunction will allow us to design therapeutic strategies in accordance with the necessities of our families.
