ABSTRACT
Sumary: Gram negative bacteria endocarditis is kind of wear. It is less frecuent at children population. It had related with central
intravenous catheters.
Methods: We are reoporting the first pediatric case of Proteus mirabilis endocarditis on a Pierre-Robin
Sindrom infant.
Results: Patient received broad spectrum antibiotic therapy due to nosocomial pneumonia and bacteremia. Endocarditis and
bacteremia were related to central line. She was treated with meropenen four weeks.
Conclusion: Proteus mirabilis endocarditis
is a very infrequent disease with urinary tract infection as a risk factor. The last two decades Gram negative bacteria had increased
their participation in nosocomial endocarditis etiology in children.
