ABSTRACT

Pulmonary cystic adenomatous malformations are a rare disease. In this article, a prenatal ultrasound diagnosis for a case on the 22nd week of pregnancy that was diagnosed an increase in the echogenic response of the left lung is presented. This finding lead to suspect the presence of the disease and, after genetic counseling, the couple decided to interrupt pregnancy. The pulmonary cystic adenomatous type III malformation was afterwards confirmed by pathologic anatomy determinations.
