ABSTRACT

We are living in an age in which many paradigms are being broken as the threshold of scientific knowledge is crossed. This, in turn, is leading to more predictive and personalized medicine that can take into account our particular genetic and epigenetic profiles, as well as the causal interactions with a microbiome that create the conditions for the development of specific diseases, and, on occasion, express inflammatory responses with significant potential for systemic damage.
