ABSTRACT
Neurogenic tumors represent 20% of all tumors in adults. The vast majority of these are benign.
Schwannomas are firm, well encapsulated tumors, and are extremely rare in the lung.
We report a patient with a schwannoma in the left chest cavity, attached to the left lower lobe
without evidence of intrathoracic origin in a nerve or mediastinum. Excision of the tumor is
performed with left lower lobectomy, confirming the diagnosis of the piece by histopathology.
