Domestic violence in freshmen of the Training School for Nurses

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Education of new generations is one of the functions of family as the fundamental unit of society. It may appear episodes of domestic violence are difficult to identify and address by adolescents. Objectives: To identify the presence of violence in the families of nursing students from first year of the School of Nursing Education Emerging and to determine the relationship between the perpetrator and the types of domestic violence. Episodes of domestic violence may appear that are difficult to identify and address by adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted. The study group consisted of 101 students from the municipality of Cotorro. The sample consisted of 72 students who recognized the presence of domestic violence in their homes. Theoretical methods of literature review and empirical methods of survey and focus groups were used. Results: Domestic violence exists in most homes of subjects studied, where fathers and mothers are the primary aggressors. Conclusions: emotional abuse and physical assault were mostly the manifestations of domestic violence presented.
