ABSTRACT

Pneumonia is defined as an inflammation and consolidation of lung tissue due to an infectious agent, the disease developed outside a hospital is considered community acquired pneumonia. Appropriated antibiotic treatment reduces the duration of symptoms and complications, but since the specific agent is unknown in most cases, empiric antibiotic is to be instituted early in the course of this illness.
