ABSTRACT
Introduction. In recent years pathological
gambling has become a significant societal
problem, with a clear clinical impacts on the
afflicted. Pathological gambling (ludopathy) is
a chronic and progressive disease involving a
consistent lack impulse control and an irrepressible
desires to participate in gambling. Many studies
have found high comorbidity rates between
pathological gambling and affective disorders.
Ludopathy has also been exhibited through a
wide range of disorders and various clinical
symptoms, which eliminates establishing a
single homogeneous personality profile for these
patients.
Clinical case. This article reports a case of
a young woman with pathological gambling
disorder and her associated comorbidities.
Discussion. Recently, dual disorders have been
studied in the scope of addictive behaviours.
In this paper, we emphasize the importance of
detecting comorbilities, diagnosing disorders, and
determining effective multifactorial treatment.
