ABSTRACT
Introduction: This trial was planned with thepropose to describe the characterized of the coronaryangiography and percutaneus coronary intervention in young people.
Methods: Observational, transversal descriptive study in 5715 patient until 40 years old, to whom coronary angiography was made in CIMEQ Hospital between January 1998 and December 2011. The information obtained from the database ANGYCOR, considering the characteristics clinical-angiographic and complication of the procedure, in-hospital and success procedures, respecting the ethics of the investigations.
Results: The most frequent diagnosis was the stable angina, like the masculine sex (77.1 %). sex and smoking (49.4 %) The anterior descending artery was the most frequently approached. The (73.8 %) was on a single coronary artery .The 66.8 % of the lesion were complex. In 73.8 % of the treated arteries, at least one stent was implanted.
Conclusion: The index of complications and mortality in coronary angiography and percutaneus coronary intervention of the young people was low, with high percentage of success, reason why they seem effective and safe procedures.
