ABSTRACT
Anatomic correction for simple transposition of great arteries surgical treatment should be done before a month of age, after that there is a gradual diminished pulmonary vascular resistances facing of left ventricle with involution of ventricular mass. This is not an optimal situation for arterial switch operation because a high morbimortaliy. This is a report of an infant who couldn’t be operated because an absent of optimal left ventricle for anatomical correction. They received ventricle training first and in a second time, arterial switch operation. Training of left ventricle to support systemic circulation is possible using pulmonary banding and systemic pulmonary shunt.
