ABSTRACT
Uvula primary carcinomas are rare tumors, and they are, even in early
stages, very aggressive because of the high incidence of cervical metastasis.
We report a case of primary carcinoma of the uvula diagnosed
by positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) during
the study of cervical metastasis of occult primary. The PET-CT has
become a useful test in patients with cervical metastasis from primary
carcinomas of the head and neck of unknown origin, combining metabolic
information from positron emission tomography and anatomic
information of computed tomography.
