Mycetoma by Nocardia brasiliensis in axilar region. A case report

ABSTRACT
Micetoma is a chronic infectious disease caused by aerobic Actynomycetes and Eumycetes. In Mexico the most common Actynomycete agent is Nocardia brasiliensis, it affects the skin, underlying tissue and sometimes fascia, bones and organs. The most common localization are lower extremities specially foot then breast and higher extremities. Characterized by the formation of localized lesions with tumefactions and multiple draining sinuses. The etiologic diagnostic is by direct exam and cultivo. The treatment is with dapsune, trimetoprima and sulfametoxazole and amikacin in severe cases. We present a case of Micetoma with an inusual localization.REFERENCES
