ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 49 year old female who attends the clinic with symptoms of intestinal occlusion, with a history of abdominal surgery and former two similar events in previous months to the current condition occurs. Acute abdomen data are detected, so that exploratory laparotomy is performed and found occlusion site at 80 cm from the ileocecal valve, with the presence of a intraluminal tumor and anatomic abnormality that motivates the resection of a segment of 20 cm of the intestine and anastomosis term-terminal ileum. The evolution of the patient was satisfactory; however, in the histopathological report an invested Meckel's diverticulum into the intestinal mucosa with heterotopic pancreatic evidenced. The case is discused and the recommendations of various authors regarding the surgical treatment in two scenarios, first, elective surgery and, on the other, an emergency situation.
