The interview is an invaluable opportunity to know the adolescent and
its contexts. The health professional needs commitment, professionalism
and other individual skills that allow it to obtain sufficient and relevant
information, which represents the best resource of communication
between both parties. The principles of confidentiality, beneficence
and autonomy, govern much of the relationship with the teenager in
the understanding of its scopes and rights. A well planned interview is
necessary for diagnosis and specific treatment in each case, also establish
a good relationship with the patient, with the principal objective of
facilitating the acquisition of life skills, empowerment and resilience.
