ABSTRACT

The scientific advances on the art of surgery originating in the XVI century, when Andreas Vesalius and Ambroise Paré settled the bases that transformed that art into a surgical science. They pioneered the surgical training, the use of antibiotics, the cardiovascular surgery, the organ transplant, the nutritional support and lately, the minimally invasive surgery. All of these advances allow us to predict that the XXI century is going to be the century of the Informatics’ Technology in this beautiful and passionate field of the science and art of surgery.
