Educative actions with family doctors to increase the quality of the oncologic attendance

ABSTRACT
Objective: to describe possible changes in some intervened variables considered for the quality of the attention that brings the health professionals to oncologic patients since educative actions.
Methods: The study population was formed by family doctors that work directly on assistance work from the policlinic “Mario Escalona”. Inquiries results, graphical representations and applied individual interview were assessed before and after six sessions of work in which group discussion, demonstrative technique and experiences workshop were used.
Results: The session were assessed by the doctors as new experiences as well as the recognition to the importance of communication and experience of greater possibilities to face daily situations on Oncology. Favorable changes were reached related to the meaning given to the oncologic disease , because after the group activities is present the difficult attitude of the families on the doctor–patient communication process, also the risk factors are recognized for the appearance of family claudicating.
Conclusion: The developmental intervention is an contribution to minimize the deficit of the professional related to the academic aspect on training communication abilities.
